flying into Martinique, I was surprised at how big Fort-de-France is, and at the size of the cruise ship

Martinique

I took a trip to see dolphins and swim with turtles.

most of the dolphins did not show off, but there were exceptions

the dolphins were literally jostling for attention. They were everywhere. Our captain estimated over 100.

my bed and breakfast was beautifully located. Le Diamant gives the town special feel to it.

Our captain was very adept at maneuvering his catamaran. I did, of course, ask him about his family. It turns out his grandfather was white and one of his children is blond with blue eyes. The other is dark like he is.

He also made us a nice snack, later on cooked a good lunch, and continually plowed us with rum punch.

t

stopped at a beach with black sand along the way. Nice, but nothing special.

I was curious when I noticed a guy asking for people who were going to Dominica. I heard him say that he was going to Guadeloupe, the second stop for this ferry. It all made sense when I read the sign saying that duty free can only be purchased by people travelling to another country. Guadeloupe is, of course, the same country as Martinique (i.e. France), so he was looking for someone to make a purchase for him.
